Amit Bindra is both a certified mediator and arbitrator. He completed the Mediation Skills Training Program at Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies and serves as an arbitrator through the American Arbitration Association.
Amit is known as an efficient, energetic, and highly skilled practitioner who assists clients in quickly advancing their matters to resolution. He is detail-oriented and fact-specific, yet able to keep parties’ ultimate interests in mind as he helps guide them to settlement or crafts a decision. His skills are sought after by both individual clients and businesses and other organizations wishing to engage an impartial and incisive neutral.
Amit brings extensive experience in employment litigation, business counseling, and negotiations to his dispute resolution practice. He has litigated matters on behalf of both individual clients and organizations before government agencies, in state and federal courts, and through appeal. His thoughtful counsel has helped both individual and business clients successfully navigate complex legal, regulatory, and professional circumstances, and his negotiating skills have been sought out by executives and other professionals wishing to strengthen their own ability to advocate for their positions and interests.
Amit specializes in trade secret disputes and drafting, negotiating, and counseling on non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, arbitration agreements, and other employment contracts for both individuals and organizations. He was one of the principal drafters of a bipartisan amendment (supported by both workers’ rights organizations and business interests) to the Illinois Freedom to Work Act, which significantly reformed how non-compete and non-solicit agreements are litigated in the State of Illinois.
Further, Amit has negotiated and litigated matters on countless employment claims, such as wage and hour disputes, employment discrimination, and whistleblower claims. His past clients have included C-suite executives, physicians, other attorneys, and hedge fund managers, as well as start-ups, mid-market businesses, and Fortune 500 corporations.
Amit previously served as an adjunct law professor of appellate writing and oral advocacy at Loyola University Chicago. He regularly provides continuing legal education for other attorneys, assists executives in developing stronger negotiation skills, and is frequently invited on podcasts and other platforms to discuss topics in law and negotiations.
