James Rogers is an Associate Attorney at The Prinz Law Firm, leveraging over a decade of experience in employment law to support both the firm’s individual and business clients. James’ well-rounded practice includes employment litigation, severance negotiations, guidance to executives on non-compete and other restrictions, business counseling, and workplace investigations, among many other matters.
Prior to joining Prinz, James practiced at firms that specialized exclusively in both employee- and employer-side representation. He provided strategic advice to businesses on legal compliance, accommodation requests, terminations, post-employment restrictions, and a host of other workplace issues. He also assisted business clients with drafting employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, employee handbooks, and other written policies, and conducted workplace investigations that enabled clients to navigate personnel challenges and improve their workplace cultures.
As a plaintiff-side attorney, James assisted individuals with claims relating to discrimination, retaliation, reasonable accommodations, breach of contract, misclassification, whistleblowing, and wage & hour disputes. He has litigated on behalf of clients in various federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, and the Illinois Department of Labor. His client advocacy has contributed to being named an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star for numerous years.
James loves the NCAA basketball tournament and played college tennis. Prior to his law degree, he worked in multiple collegiate athletic departments and he finds the intersection between law and sports particularly impactful.
James would love to hear about the last concert you went to, or a new band you’re interested in – he’s a consummate music fan. His cool wife and their sons steal him for hiking, concerts, and travel to maximize joy.
